Reviewing the Therapeutic Importance of Stem Cell Homing

The manipulation of hematopoietic stem and progenitor cell homing represents a fascinating approach to the improvement of engraftment following hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. Additionally, the homing of mesenchymal stem cells to sites of injury and regeneration also represents an essential step in tissue repair. Now, in a recent STEM CELLS review article, researchers led by Jane Liesveld (Wilmot Cancer Institute, Rochester, NY, USA) discusses the process of stem cell homing to highlight those strategies that may improve the process.
