Pluripotent Stem Cells and Genetic Heart Diseases

A new review article from the laboratory of Richard P. Davis (Leiden University Medical Center. Leiden, Netherlands) discusses how the combination of human induced pluripotent stem cells and genome editing offers a potential link in investigating the pathogenicity of primary genetic mutations affecting cardiac disease and also in determining the contribution of modifying variants. Van den Brink et al. believe that a more in-depth understanding should improve clinical decision‐making and advance the field toward making precision medicine a reality.
