Pandemic's Frequent Questions Answered

The Cord Blood Association has prepared answers to frequently asked questions about cord blood and perinatal tissue banking during the coronavirus pandemic. 

The questions generally center on the safety of current inventories, collections during the pandemic, and cord blood as an alternative when a matched living donor is unavailable for a transplant patient.

There’s also the intriguing question about whether cord blood, cord tissue or placenta tissue might be used in the manufacture of cell therapies to fight the COVID-19 virus.

'Cord Blood Connect' Remains on Hold

As previously announced, pre-registrations and abstract submission for the 2020 Cord Blood Connect international congress have been suspended.

CBA leaders are evaluating whether to proceed, postpone or develop alternatives for the congress that is scheduled for Sept. 10-12 in Miami Beach.
