Immunoregulatory Role of hASC-CCR7 in VCA
A new study from the laboratories of Yan Han and Hong Li (First Medical Centre of Chinese PLA General Hospital, Beijing, People's Republic of China) recently explored the utility of Chemokine receptor 7 (CCR7) overexpression in human adipose-derived stem cells (hASCs) as a means to induce immune intolerance following vascularized composite allotransplantation (VCA). In their new STEM CELLS article, Ma et al. demonstrate how hASC-CCR7 infusion prolonged graft survival time in a rat VCA model through the altered axis of Th1/Th2 and Tregs/Th17 in secondary lymphoid organs and modulated splenic T lymphocyte proteomic profiles.
